Networking with CUSEAS & KCL

This year, WAC also strived to connect with our fellow counterparts across the UK, by putting together an inaugural virtual networking session with King’s College London and the University of Cambridge. This virtual event consisted of a panel discussion followed by a networking session with corporate representatives from various industries, complete with networking booths set up in a careers fair format.

The panel consisted of 4 esteemed individuals, who are each experts in their respective business sectors, and possess an impressive range of multi-jurisdictional and multi-sectoral experience. The panel was moderated by Hyung Bang Shin (Director of LSE Southeast Asian Centre), as he led the discussion surrounding the inevitable work-life changes spurred by the copious global and regional crises that have recently occurred. Mark Billington (Regional Director of Greater China & SEA at ICAEW), Kriengchai Boonpoapichart (Chief Financial Officer of CP All Thailand), Au Yong Jin (Management Associate at CIMB Singapore), and Dr.Khor Swee Kheng (Independent Consultant to WHO).

Participants freely mingled across the booths, and experienced a unique opportunity to interact with representatives from market-leading companies, including CIMB, ICAEW, Shopee, and AbInBev, who were more than delighted at the opportunity to reach ASEAN talent across some of the most prestigious universities of the United Kingdom in the short span of just a few hours.
